"He was my first born and arrived at 33weeks. I had a very traumatic birth where he was starved of oxygen"

A mother’s experience of Oxford University Hospitals Maternity Services in 2012:

I gave birth to my son in 2012 at the John Radcliffe hospital. He was my first born and arrived at 33weeks. I had a very traumatic birth where he was starved of oxygen and not put into his incubator the second he was born.

He has spastic diplegia cerebral palsy (is a full time wheelchair user), severe learning disabilities, is non verbal and has autism.

I don’t feel I was monitored properly by the midwife team and feel that things could have been very, very different if they acted immediately when he was born.
