A mother's experience of Oxford University Hospitals Maternity Services in 2024/25:
My baby was a misdiagnosed transverse baby. I had 5 sweeps in total and was due to give birth at home (continuously told my baby was head down) however baby was transverse and very luckily I just happened to be at the JR for a check up when I went into labour. I then had to have an emergency c section.
Baby was born not breathing and needed resus. If we had been at home I’m not sure she would have made it. I’ve been left with bladder issues and nerve damage from the spinal block. At this moment in time we aren’t sure the damage if any done to my baby.
The treatment I received/didn’t receive on level 5 was awful. I felt uncared for and ignored.
