"No one believed me at all."

A mother's experience of Oxford University Hospitals Maternity Services in 2014:

Despite having been seen by a public health consultant at 20 weeks; all I heard during Labour was about my mental health - that I had been treated for successful several years before.

I had been telling them for 2 weeks when I was 40 weeks pregnant that my waters had broken. No one believed me at all. Told me it was in my head.

My baby was born at 42 week via induction, and had respiratory distress. Again I was told he was fine but we needed to see a social worker ( I am a social worker!) because of my MH.

At 4 weeks old my baby suddenly went very downhill and mottled. I was told he was fine. Then we were rushed in via ambulance and he had sepsis and E. coli. Possibly caused by my waters going 2 weeks prior to delivery.

They were too worried about the fact I had trauma as a child - that I had a lot of therapy for rather than the physical side. I also put on 7 stone during pregnancy as I kept fainting when I was hungry - however that was also in my head!
